We only spent one night in Colmar, but we really walked a lot and saw a lot of sights. It was my first time trying out my French. At the first restaraunt we went to, and officially the first (grouchy) person who replied "non" when asked in French "Pardon Monsieur, esque vous parler l'Anglais?" (do you speak English), I was forced to use French. I asked for a table for twelve. He got the picture. When I ordered black wine, he corrected me, saying "noire?" and I just of course said "oui".After some good food, we found a little building in the middle of a park with a grouchy bike rental salesman. He did not speak English, so I got to try out some French on him. We took the bikes and headed out of the city, and ended up finding the most amazing OLD village next to a winery.
